Thai expert joins Hanoi women's volleyball team

Mr. Kittipong Pornchartyingcheep has unexpectedly reappeared in Vietnam, becoming part of the Hanoi women's volleyball squad to get ready for the 2025 National A-Class Championship finals.

The Hanoi women's volleyball team has recently strengthened its roster with the official signing of Thai expert Kittipong Pornchartyingcheep, who is preparing for the 2025 National A-Class Championship finals in October. The Hanoi coaching staff confirmed that Mr. Kittipong began working at the end of September, collaborating closely with head coach Nguyễn Hữu Bình.

Previously, Kittipong made a notable impact while coaching at VTV Bình Điền Long An Club, where he helped develop many athletes including the famous middle blocker Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Hoa. This return carries high expectations that the Thai expert will bring positive changes to Hanoi women's volleyball, especially as the team has recently gained the support of sponsor Tasco Auto.

Mrs. Bạch Liên Hương, Director of Hanoi's Department of Culture and Sports, emphasized the primary goal of building a sustainable Hanoi women's volleyball team and gradually reclaiming their national standing. The immediate objective for coach Nguyễn Hữu Bình and his players is to reach the finals of the 2025 National A-Class Championship to earn promotion and compete in the 2026 National Championship.

According to Mr. Bùi Đình Lợi, Head of Volleyball at Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center, the entire team will focus fully on their skills aiming for the highest achievement in the upcoming finals. Besides financial backing, the team has devised a long-term plan including hiring quality domestic players, enhancing training, and even considering recruiting foreign players starting in 2026.

After being relegated following the 2024 National Championship season, the Hanoi women's team surpassed the group stage of the 2025 A-Class Championship to secure a spot in the finals. Their competitors include Phú Thọ, Thái Nguyên, Quảng Ninh, Hải Phòng, Bắc Ninh, the youth teams of Thông tin - Đông Bắc and VTV Bình Điền Long An. The finals will be held in Hà Tĩnh from October 23 to November 2, with the champion earning promotion.
