Thai foreign player Assanaphan Chantajorn returns to play for Hà Tĩnh, inspiring hopes for the host team to advance at the 2025 National A Volleyball Championship finals.
The Hà Tĩnh men's volleyball team recently made a significant addition ahead of the 2025 National A Volleyball Championship finals by securing an agreement to recruit Thai foreign player Assanaphan Chantajorn. This marks the second time this spiker has worn the Central Vietnam team's jersey after previously playing for Hà Tĩnh in the 2023 National Championship.
According to the plan, Chantajorn will arrive in Vietnam on October 6, then train with the entire team in preparation for the finals held right on Hà Tĩnh’s home court. Coach Trần Đăng Thành stated that the return of this 1.91m foreign player is expected to bring great strength, helping the team aim for the finals and secure promotion to the national league next season.
Hà Tĩnh was relegated in the 2024 season after an unsuccessful year of competition. However, in 2025, the team performed steadily in the qualifiers and earned a spot in the finals.
Hà Tĩnh’s squad is also strengthened as two key spikers, Đinh Văn Phương and Trần Đức Hạnh, will return after playing with Ninh Bình in the National Championship. The presence of this attacking duo combined with Chantajorn promises to boost Hà Tĩnh’s offensive power.
Assanaphan Chantajorn is well-known among Vietnamese volleyball fans. In 2023, he was a crucial member of Hà Tĩnh’s lineup, significantly contributing to the team’s 4th place finish nationwide. The Thai foreign player competes as a main attacker, with an impressive attacking jump reach of 3.25 meters, and has played for the Thai national team for many years.
The final round of the 2025 National A Volleyball Championship will take place from October 23 to November 2 in Hà Tĩnh, featuring seven men’s teams: Hà Tĩnh, Vĩnh Long, VLXD Bình Dương, Mobile Police Command, Military Region 3, Quảng Nam, and Ho Chi Minh City.
