The second phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship will take place ahead of schedule, requiring teams to make changes in personnel and tactical planning for the season's concluding segment.
The second phase and the finals of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship promise to be lively and intense, especially in the women’s category where most teams have managed to add quality foreign players.
However, alongside the excitement on the court, several clubs are concerned about organizational issues due to the schedule changes from the original plan.
As of now, 7 out of 8 women’s teams have reached agreements to recruit foreign players. Notably, American players like Roni Jones Perry (VTV Bình Điền Long An) and Leah Hardeman (Thanh Hóa) have joined, along with European athletes such as Miroslava Paskova (LPBank Ninh Bình), Irina Voronkova (Thông tin - Đông Bắc), Anna Belyanskaya (Ngân hàng Công thương), and Helena Grozer (Thái Bình).
Investing in foreign players helps clubs enhance their squad quality, making the competition more exciting and competitive.
Nevertheless, teams are somewhat unsettled as the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV) unexpectedly advanced the schedule for phase 2 and the finals by three days compared to the initial plan.
This change has forced many clubs to urgently revise their training, accommodation, and travel plans, while also causing difficulties in renegotiating contracts and schedules with foreign players.
Despite ongoing concerns, the appeal of the second phase and finals this year is expected to rise thanks to the presence of high-quality foreign players. The participation of top international hitters not only brings diverse playing styles but also offers Vietnamese players more opportunities to compete and improve their skills.
The second phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship will be held from October 7 to 16 in Ninh Bình. The men’s category features 8 teams: Ho Chi Minh City Police, Border Guard, Army Sports, Da Nang, Sanest Khanh Hoa, Ninh Bình, Long An, and Hanoi. The women’s category includes LPBank Ninh Bình, VTV Bình Điền Long An, Thông tin - Đông Bắc, Ngân hàng Công thương, Đức Giang Chemicals, Thanh Hóa, Thái Bình, and Ho Chi Minh City.
