The defending champion VTV Bình Điền Long An managed a tough 3-2 win against TP.HCM during phase two of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship, where Đặng Thị Kim Thanh made a strong impression.

In the opening match of phase two against TP.HCM, head coach Ngọc Hoa decided to position Đặng Thị Kim Thanh as an outside hitter instead of her usual middle blocker role.

This change immediately proved effective as she became the main scorer, contributing a total of 21 points, including 16 attack points and 5 blocks. Kim Thanh’s reliability combined with the blocking skills of Lữ Thị Phương and Lê Như Anh formed a strong defensive wall, limiting many of TP.HCM's attacks.

Although VTV Bình Điền Long An took the lead in the first two sets, they were unexpectedly leveled 2-2 by TP.HCM following defensive errors and the opponent’s surge in sets three and four. In the decisive set, the champions’ composure showed as Kim Thanh and her teammates controlled the game well, winning convincingly 15-2 and closing the match at 3-2.
