Set 1: Gunma Green Wings 25-21 Queenseis Kariya
Facing Queenseis Kariya again in less than a day, Gunma Green Wings started even stronger this time by quickly gaining an early lead. Kariya’s foreign player Sofya Kuznetsova played excellently to narrow the gap, but the balanced offense and solid defense formed the foundation that helped Green Wings maintain their advantage and secure a valuable win in the first set.
No one else but Trần Thị Thanh Thúy was the brightest star for Gunma in set 1, scoring 5 points. The "4T" made good use of her impressive height and versatile attacking skills from all positions to help her team gain an early edge.
Set 2: Gunma Green Wings 15-25 Queenseis Kariya
Queenseis Kariya came back strongly and clearly dominated set 2, boosted by their home crowd’s support. Kuznetsova, Cuttino, and Shigihara performed very effectively in attack, enabling the home team to build a significant lead in this set.
Gunma Green Wings appeared somewhat unsettled; their blocking was below par and unable to stop the opponent’s attacking efforts. Thanh Thúy continued to be the top scorer with 6 points, bringing her total to 11 points and leading the scoring charts for Green Wings and the entire match so far.
Set 3: Gunma Green Wings 18-25 Queenseis Kariya
Gunma Green Wings played better during the first half of set 3, maintaining a lead until the score reached 15-all. From there, the momentum shifted as Queenseis Kariya showed sharp attacking skills and solid defense.
From a tied score of 16-16, Green Wings managed only 2 more points, while Kariya kept scoring continuously and raced to a 25-18 victory, taking a 2-1 lead.
Set 4: Gunma Green Wings 22-25 Queenseis Kariya
The fourth set was quite dramatic: Queenseis Kariya frequently held the lead, but Gunma Green Wings quickly closed the gap to within 2-3 points.
The two remaining foreign players, Rozanski and Dimitrova, were effectively "locked down," weakening Green Wings’ offensive power despite Thanh Thúy’s excellent performance. They failed to string together 2-3 points before the opponent capitalized on their chances, resulting in their first defeat of the season.
Final result, Queenseis Kariya defeated Gunma Green Wings 3-1 (21-25; 25-15; 25-18; 25-22)with Thanh Thúy being the highest scorer for Green Wings with 20 points. After two matches, "4T" has accumulated 37 points — an impressive start in her return to the Japanese National Volleyball Championship.
