Sports headlines on the morning of December 15: Thailand's top star speaks candidly about the final against Vietnam's women's volleyball team

Morning sports news on December 15: Chatchu-on Moksri warns about the SEA Games 2025 volleyball final; Mason Greenwood excels in Ligue 1... these are the notable stories in this morning’s sports news.

Captain of Thailand’s women’s volleyball team comments on the match against Vietnam’s women’s volleyball team

Chatchu-on Moksri, captain of Thailand’s women’s volleyball team, spoke about their convincing 3-0 win over Indonesia in the SEA Games 2025 semifinals (25-15, 25-21, 25-15) on December 14. She said the match was not very challenging but required great accuracy.

According to Chatchu-on Moksri, Thailand’s women’s volleyball team still made some minor errors that need fixing as they prepare for the final against Vietnam’s women’s volleyball team. She believes Vietnam’s team should not be underestimated because Thanh Thúy and her teammates have demonstrated very good form. Therefore, Thailand must play even better.

Chatchu-on Moksri spoke out about Vietnam’s women’s volleyball team

"Although we have faced Vietnam’s women’s volleyball team many times before, this time feels more special because the SEA Games are held on home soil. I hope to receive support from sports fans both in the stands and at home. Please cheer for us once again. We will give our best effort to bring the gold medal to Thai fans," said Chatchu-on Moksri.

In the final, Thailand’s women’s volleyball team — 16-time champions and winners of the last 14 SEA Games — will face Vietnam at 5:30 PM on December 15 at the Indoor Stadium, Huamark. Prior to that, Indonesia will compete for the bronze medal against the Philippines at 3:00 PM.

Mason Greenwood shines in Ligue 1

Mason Greenwood scored the winning goal in the 82nd minute to help Marseille defeat AS Monaco, moving them to third place in Ligue 1 and earning him the Man of the Match award. The 24-year-old striker continues his impressive form under coach Roberto De Zerbi, bringing his total to 11 goals in 15 Ligue 1 matches and 14 goals in all competitions, leading the scoring charts in France. A few days earlier, Greenwood also scored twice to help Marseille win 3-2 against Union Saint-Gilloise in the Champions League.

After the match, he stated that the victory over Monaco was a result of the team’s collective effort. Although De Zerbi considers Greenwood one of Europe’s best forwards, he still asks him to improve ball retention and defensive contribution. Greenwood is currently rumored to possibly return to the Premier League or join Barcelona in the winter transfer window.
