Determining the host locations for Vietnam's youth volleyball tournaments in 2026

Alongside the National Championship and the nationwide A-grade league, youth volleyball competitions also attract attention with the participation of rising volleyball stars from the country.

The Vietnam Department of Sports and the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV) have just finalized the regulations for organizing the tournament system of volleyball for national youth players in 2026. According to the plan, three competitions for young athletes will continue this year: the 2026 National Youth Championship, the 2026 National Youth Club Championship, and the 2026 National U23 Championship.

Specifically, the 2026 National Youth Volleyball Championship will be held from August 8 to August 23 at the Ha Tinh Provincial Gymnasium. Prior to that, the 2026 National Youth Club Championship took place in Ninh Binh from July 15 to July 26. Meanwhile, the 2026 National U23 Championship will kick off earliest, running from June 13 to June 28 in Quang Ngai.

Regarding player regulations, the rules allow teams participating in the 2026 National Youth Club Championship and the 2026 National U23 Championship to transfer up to 2 players to strengthen their squad depth. For the U23 Championship, teams may make short-term transfers of 2 players but must strictly follow the VFV’s transfer regulations established since 2010.

As for the 2026 National Youth Championship, the rule of no additional reinforcement players remains unchanged. This regulation has been applied for many years to encourage teams to focus on developing and using homegrown players, thereby improving long-term training quality and creating opportunities for young athletes in their local areas.

In 2026, Asian volleyball will also host the Continental U18 Championships for both boys and girls. Vietnam’s volleyball team plans to develop a professional preparation strategy based on the coaching staff’s proposals to gear up for this important competition.

In the 2025 season, Thong Tin - Dong Bac and The Cong Tan Cang were standout names in youth tournaments, with Thong Tin - Dong Bac completing a triple crown across competitions - a record in Vietnamese youth volleyball.
