The pair of Vietnamese female volleyball players maintain strong form at the 2025-2026 Japan National Championship (SV.League) representing Gunma Green Wings and Okayama Seagulls.
Two top stars of Vietnamese women's volleyball - Trần Thị Thanh Thúy and Trần Thị Bích Thủy - continued to play respectively for Gunma Green Wings and Okayama Seagulls in the match on January 25 at the 2025-2026 Japan National Championship (SV.League).
Accordingly, Thanh Thúy and her teammates from Gunma Green Wings secured a 3-1 victory (23-25; 25-22; 25-15; 25-20) over PFU BlueCats, avenging their defeat suffered against the same opponent the day before on January 24.
Despite a narrow loss in the first set, Gunma Green Wings played confidently and steadily, minimizing mistakes compared to their encounter a day earlier. Led by the trio of foreign players: Thanh Thúy, Olivia Rozanski, and Nasya Dimitrova, alongside the consistent performance of Yasuha Nakano, coach Masayasu Sakamoto’s team made a strong comeback to complete the comeback against a high-performing opponent who had won 6 consecutive matches before this game.
Notably, Trần Thị Thanh Thúy fully enjoyed the day facing her old club, delivering an impressive performance with 19 points (17 attack points - 31% efficiency plus 2 blocks). After 4 encounters this season, Thanh Thúy and her team have won 3 matches.
However, the joy for Vietnamese women's volleyball fans was not complete as in the other match, Trần Thị Bích Thủy and her teammates at Okayama Seagulls failed to claim their second consecutive victory, losing in 4 sets to Kurobe AquaFairies with scores of 22-25; 25-19; 15-25; 19-25.
Bích Thủy did not explode like in yesterday’s game but still made an impact with 11 points (9 attack points - 40% efficiency plus 2 blocks).
In the next round of the 2025-2026 Japan National Championship on February 7, Okayama Seagulls will face Queenseis Kariya, while Gunma Green Wings will compete against Osaka Marvelous. Next week, Trần Thị Thanh Thúy will participate in the All Star event featuring top stars such as Yoshino Sato, Lise Van Hecke, Nootsara Tomkom, Yukiko Wada, and Airi Miyabe, among others.
