VTV Bình Điền Long An Club will compete in the 2026 Asian Volleyball Club Champions League (AVC Champions League).
The women's volleyball team VTV Bình Điền Long An unexpectedly received a special invitation to join the 2026 AVC Champions League from the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), according to sources from Webthethao and SGGP newspaper.
This news is surprising because previously, VTV Bình Điền Long An had to participate in the regional qualifying round but lost to Thailand's representative, Chonburi VC, with a score of 1-3 earlier this February.
This defeat had left fans regretful as the team seemed to have missed the chance to compete. However, the new decision by AVC has granted a special ticket to Vietnam's representative.
According to the format, the 2026 AVC Champions League includes 8 participating teams: the host team, 4 regional slots (CAVA, EAVA, WAVA, SAVA), and 3 wildcard spots. The tournament is scheduled to take place in South Korea from April 26 to 30.

Last season, VTV Bình Điền Long An impressed by securing the runner-up position in the 2025 AVC Champions League. Therefore, their continued presence in this year's tournament excites fans as the Western region team will compete against high-quality clubs across Asia. The top two teams in this tournament will earn tickets to the Club World Championship, so the AVC Champions League can be considered a qualifying round for the world championship.
The AVC Champions League is the continental women's club volleyball tournament organized annually by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), the highest governing body for volleyball in Asia. The event was first held in Thailand in 1999.
For a long period, the champion would qualify for the FIVB Women's Club World Championship. Starting from 2024, the qualification format was adjusted, whereby the two finalist teams directly earn the right to participate in the world championship.
Tianjin Bohai Bank holds the record for the most championships with 5 titles. Chinese clubs have won a total of 8 championships, the highest among all countries. The current Asian champion is Kazakhstan's Zhetysu VC, which defeated Vietnam's VTV Bình Điền Long An with a score of 3–1 in the 2025 season final.
