Coach Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Hoa and her team are the reigning runners-up of this prestigious competition.
VTV Bình Điền Long An unexpectedly obtains a place in the 2026 AVC Women's Champions League, held in South Korea in late April.
Previously, VTV Bình Điền Long An was eliminated after AVC (Asian Volleyball Confederation) unexpectedly organized a playoff for the sole Southeast Asian spot in the prestigious tournament. Here, Võ Thị Kim Thoa and her teammates suffered a 1-3 defeat against Supreme Chonburi (Thailand).
This loss was not particularly surprising, as VTV Bình Điền Long An had limited preparation time and brought only a thin squad of 11 players to Thailand—including just two spikers and one libero.
However, that match became meaningless when AVC recently granted a special invitation to the AVC Champions League to the reigning national champion. Thus, both VTV BĐLA and Chonburi will "join hands" to enter the main round of the tournament.
The 2026 AVC Women's Champions League will be held from April 26 to April 30 in Incheon, South Korea, featuring eight top clubs from Asia. The participation slots are allocated as follows:
Last season, the AVC Women's Champions League was held in the Philippines. VTV Bình Điền Long An participated as the Vietnamese champion and had a memorable journey there. Trần Thị Thanh Thúy and her teammates performed exceptionally well, reaching the final match and claimed the runner-up title after losing to Zhetysu (Kazakhstan).
Three players from the team later received individual awards: Trần Thị Thanh Thúy as the best setter, Vi Thị Như Quỳnh as the best spiker, and Nguyễn Khánh Đang as the best libero.
VTV Bình Điền Long An was subsequently awarded a spot in the World Club Cup held in late 2025 in Brazil, but due to the vast geographical distance and not having their best squad—some athletes joined the national team for the 33rd SEA Games—the team decided to withdraw.
