Vietnamese women's volleyball legend Phạm Thị Yến has just shared joyful news with fans as she is entering a special stage in her life.

Great joy has just come to the family of former volleyball player Phạm Thị Yến as she officially becomes pregnant with her first child. This information quickly attracted attention from friends, colleagues, and fans after a suggestive post on social media by her husband, Mr. Đặng Đức Chung.

On March 9, Mr. Đặng Đức Chung posted a brief but emotional status on his personal page: "Beat life 1-0," while tagging his wife.

With just a few concise words, the post caught the attention of many relatives and friends of the couple. Under the comments section, a series of congratulations were sent to Phạm Thị Yến's small family. Many guessed that the couple is preparing to welcome a new member.

In an exchange with Labor Newspaper, Mr. Đặng Đức Chung confirmed this joy. According to Mr. Chung, Phạm Thị Yến is pregnant with her first child, and the family had known this happy news some time earlier. However, only at this moment did he have the opportunity to share it widely with friends and relatives.

The husband of the former volleyball player said both spouses feel extremely happy as they prepare to enter a new stage of family life. Because they had prepared psychologically and planned beforehand, when the happy news arrived, everything happened naturally and perfectly.

Regarding Phạm Thị Yến, the former player born in 1985 also could not hide her emotion when talking about this important decision. She said after marriage, the couple had discussed their future plans thoroughly many times. Since both are no longer very young, having a child early is a common wish of both families. Therefore, the desire to become a mother became the motivation for Phạm Thị Yến to temporarily put aside part of her professional work, dedicating time to her new calling.

The famous former main attacker of Vietnamese volleyball also shared that during the early stage of pregnancy, her body underwent certain changes. However, everything remains under control. Due to the nature of his work, her husband is often busy and not always at home, but Phạm Thị Yến said she fully understands that. Besides her husband's care, both families are always there to look after and support her, helping her feel secure and happy during this special period.

Alongside preparing to welcome her first child, Phạm Thị Yến also has adjustments in her work at the women's volleyball team of the Information Branch – 19th Corps. According to the preparation plan for the 2026 season, the team's coaching staff has undergone personnel changes. Phạm Thị Yến will withdraw from the assistant coach role at the first team to focus on her family and new responsibilities.

Specifically, the team leadership decided to assign her to coach young athletes. This is considered a reasonable transition, allowing Phạm Thị Yến to have conditions to care for herself and her family while continuing to contribute her valuable experience to training the next generation.

Meanwhile, coach Đỗ Thị Minh has been added to the first-team coaching staff to take on professional work. In the upcoming season, the women's volleyball team of the Information Branch will participate in the 2026 Hoa Lư Cup and the first round of the 2026 National Club Championship with a coaching staff consisting of head coach Phạm Văn Long and two assistants, Phạm Minh Dũng and Đỗ Thị Minh.
