The Vietnamese women's volleyball team will not participate in the first notable tournament of the 2026 season, which is scheduled to start this March.
Star player Dang Thi Kim Thanh will not be included in the competition roster of VTV Binh Dien Long An for the Hoa Lu – Binh Dien Cup 2026, a tournament scheduled to begin in mid-March in Ninh Binh.
This information has been confirmed by the team's coaching staff representatives during preparations for the new season.
According to the coaching staff, Kim Thanh's absence from this year's opening tournament is part of the team's professional plan. After recently participating in some competitions and training activities in Dak Lak, this hitter is currently adjusting her training load to focus on a more important goal: the first round of the 2026 National Club Championship. The coaching staff stated that the team still trusts Kim Thanh's form and contribution ability when entering the official competition phase of the season.

Kim Thanh (number 2) recently helped Ho Chi Minh City Women's Volleyball Club win the championship of the 2026 "Dak Lak in Season" volleyball tournament.
During this period, the VTV Binh Dien Long An team is maintaining its training process in Hanoi to finalize the lineup and tactics. According to the plan, the entire team will move to Ninh Binh in the coming days to participate in the Hoa Lu – Binh Dien Cup 2026, a tournament scheduled to start from March 18th and featuring many strong teams from Vietnamese women's volleyball.
For this tournament, coach Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa has registered a preliminary squad list including many familiar faces such as Nguyen Thi Tra My, Trinh Huynh Bao Ngoc, Pham Cao Tram Anh, Le Nhu Anh, Vo Thi Kim Thoa, Vo Thi Thao Nguyen, Nguyen Lan Vy, Tran Nguyen Qui Uyen, Nguyen Ngoc My Tien, Lu Thi Phuong, Nguyen Thi Huong Ngo, Nguyen Thi Hong Dao, Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Tao Khanh My, Do Vu Ngoc Anh, along with foreign player Lianet García Anglada from Cuba. According to the plan, this foreign hitter will arrive in Vietnam on March 12th to join the team and train together, preparing for the 2026 season.
After the Hoa Lu – Binh Dien Cup 2026 concludes, auxiliary attacker Kim Thanh will return to join the VTV Binh Dien Long An team. This is also the time when the coaching staff will evaluate the squad and reduce the list to 14 official athletes to register for the first round of the 2026 National Club Championship. This round will take place from April 6th to April 19th in Dong Anh (Hanoi).
Entering this season, VTV Binh Dien Long An carries high expectations as the reigning national champion. Moreover, the team has been granted a special slot to participate in the AVC Champions League 2026 held in South Korea in April. Therefore, the coaching staff is carefully planning the squad to ensure an optimal lineup for both domestic and continental competitions.
