Coach Tuấn Kiệt has just shared special news. The Vietnam women's volleyball team is about to welcome a new star after recruiting three national team players.
Coach Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt has officially finalized the roster of the Hanoi women's volleyball team participating in the Hoa Lư – Bình Điền Cup 2026.
This tournament is considered his first debut with the Capital team since taking on the role earlier this year. It is also an important warm-up to test the team's professional preparation process ahead of the domestic season.
According to the plan, the Hanoi women's team will travel to Ninh Bình this weekend to complete preparations for the tournament. Sharing the team's goals for the Hoa Lư – Bình Điền Cup 2026, Coach Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt stated that the coaching staff wants to utilize the tournament as an opportunity to test and evaluate the players' tactical execution ability after the recent training phase.

He emphasized that actual competition will help the team better identify strengths as well as issues needing adjustment in their gameplay.
Notably, the 1976-born strategist decided not to use foreign players in this tournament. Instead, he gave opportunities to the existing domestic players to create stability and help them better understand the new tactical system.
The registered list for the Hanoi women's team includes athletes: Đỗ Quế Trân, Vi Thị Như Quỳnh, Phạm Thị Thanh Chúc, Bùi Thị Ánh Thảo, Nguyễn Phan Khánh Linh, Vũ Thị Huyền Trang, Lê Thanh Thúy, Vi Thị Yến Nhi, Lê Thùy Linh, Lưu Thị Diệu Linh, Phạm Thùy Linh, Dương Ngọc Quỳnh Anh, Nguyễn Lý Thụy Vi and Nguyễn Khánh Đang.
Among them, four experienced faces including Vi Thị Như Quỳnh, Bùi Thị Ánh Thảo, Nguyễn Khánh Đang and Lê Thanh Thúy were part of the Vietnam women's volleyball national team that won the silver medal at SEA Games 33 in 2025. The presence of these national team players is expected to play a pivotal role, helping the team maintain stability both professionally and in competitive spirit.
Additionally, Nguyễn Lý Thụy Vi is the only player reinforced from outside. This player is borrowed from the Quảng Ninh women's volleyball team, currently competing in the national A division, to add squad depth for Hanoi this season.
Currently, the coaching staff of the Hanoi women's team includes head coach Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt, assistant coach Nguyễn Hữu Cường, assistant Tạ Đức Hiếu and caretaker Đinh Thị Ngân. The team collective has maintained training in Đông Anh (Hanoi) recently to improve fitness and tactics.
Although not using foreign players in the Hoa Lư – Bình Điền Cup, Hanoi is still actively advancing plans to strengthen the team with international players for the season.
Coach Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt revealed the team has approached four potential foreign players, including two athletes from China and two European players. However, procedures and negotiation processes are still being finalized before reaching a final decision. According to national championship regulations, Hanoi will only register foreign players within the permitted limit.
The Hoa Lư – Bình Điền Cup 2026 will take place from March 18 to 23 in Ninh Bình. Immediately after this tournament ends, the Hanoi women's team will return to the capital to continue preparations for Round 1 of the 2026 National Club Championship, scheduled from April 6 to April 19.
This is the team's most important goal in the early season phase, as the coaching staff aims to build a stable collective capable of competing at the highest level of Vietnamese women's volleyball.
