The U18 Vietnamese women's volleyball squad secured a 3-0 victory over their Kyrgyz counterparts in the 2026 Southeast Asian U18 Women's Volleyball Championship.
In their opener at the 2026 Southeast Asian U18 Women's Volleyball Championship, Vietnam's U18 team cruised to a 3-0 win against Kyrgyzstan's U18 squad on June 23 in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand. Coached by Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Hoa, the team dominated both in attack and defense, facing little trouble against an opponent considered inferior in skill and international experience.

In the first set, Vietnam won 25-11 thanks to effective blocking and consistent offensive organization. Setter Huyền Trang distributed the ball flexibly, while attackers like Ánh Thảo stood out, scoring points continuously. The second set saw the same dominance continue, with Vietnam winning by a wide margin of 25-5.
Kyrgyzstan's U18 team appeared flustered, committing many basic errors under heavy pressure from Vietnam's serving and defensive play. In the third set, Vietnam deliberately slowed the pace, allowing their opponents to score more points, but still maintained complete control, winning 25-15. Ultimately, Vietnam claimed a 3-0 victory (25-11, 25-5, 25-15).
This year's tournament features eight teams divided into two groups. Vietnam's U18 team is in Group B alongside Kyrgyzstan, the Philippines, and Malaysia. According to the schedule, after their opening match, they will face the Philippines at 4:00 p.m. on June 24 and Malaysia at 10:00 a.m. on June 25. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals, in line with the tournament format.
The win gave Vietnam's U18 team a favorable start in the competition, building positive momentum for their remaining group-stage matches.
