Making history at the SEA V.Cup, Vietnamese volleyball earns a spot in the 2027 Asian Championship.

The championship of Leg 2 of the 2026 SEA V.Cup not only carries historical significance for the Vietnamese men's volleyball team but also opens the door to the continental arena. With a convincing championship performance, coach Federico Rampazzo's team has officially secured the right to participate in the 2027 AVC Cup – a tournament that gathers the top strong teams in Asia.

This is a well‑deserved reward for the efforts of Vietnamese men's volleyball in recent times. Under the guidance of the new Italian coach, the team has created a memorable milestone by winning a leg of the SEA V.Cup (formerly SEA V.League) for the first time, affirming their standing in the Southeast Asian region.

This achievement makes Vietnam the third Southeast Asian representative to take part in the 2027 AVC Cup. Previously, Indonesia had already secured a ticket as the champion of the 2026 AVC Cup, while Cambodia earned a spot by winning Leg 1 of the SEA V.Cup this year.

Thus, the Southeast Asian region will have three teams competing in the 2027 AVC Cup: Indonesia, Cambodia, and Vietnam. This is also evidence of the strong development of men's volleyball in the region, as the gap between teams is narrowing and surprises keep occurring in international tournaments.

Participating in the AVC Cup is also expected to provide additional motivation for the whole team after a successful season. Under the leadership of coach Rampazzo, the Vietnamese team has shown clear progress in playing style, competitive spirit, and the ability to compete with strong regional opponents.

After completing their goal at the SEA V.Cup, the Vietnamese men's volleyball team will focus on the remaining important tournament of 2026: the 20th Asian Games (ASIAD 20) in Nagoya, Japan.
