The Vietnamese volleyball team receives a staggering bonus after their remarkable triumph at the SEA V.Cup.

After winning the second leg of the SEA V.Cup 2026, the Vietnamese men's volleyball team earned 500 million VND, increasing their overall bonus to 800 million VND.

A 3-2 victory over Thailand in the final on the evening of July 26th at the Jakarta International Velodrome helped the Vietnamese men's volleyball team claim their first championship in a leg of the SEA V.Cup. This achievement also brought a well‑deserved reward for the breakthrough journey of coach Federico Rampazzo and his players.

Right after the match, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation decided to award the entire team an immediate bonus of 500 million VND. Earlier, the team had also received 300 million VND after a 3-1 victory over host Indonesia in the semifinals. Therefore, the total bonuses for the two most crucial matches amounted to 800 million VND.

The bonus is not only of material value but also serves as recognition for a team that endured immense pressure during the second leg. Vietnam started with a 2-3 loss to Thailand itself, then beat Myanmar 3-0 to secure a semifinal spot. Against Indonesia, coach Rampazzo's players took the initiative, served effectively, and maintained steady blocking to win 3-1.

In the final, Vietnam once again went through five intense sets. After losing the first set 22-25, they fought back with 25-23 and 25-19 wins to take the lead. Thailand took the fourth set 25-15, but Vietnam kept their composure in the decisive set, closing the match with a 15-10 victory.

A notable adjustment by coach Rampazzo was to let Nguyễn Ngọc Thuân and Dương Văn Tiên rest midway through the fourth set, when the point gap had widened. This decision helped the key players preserve their energy for the final set.

Ngọc Thuân emerged as the brightest star, scoring 31 points in the final and raising his total for the second leg to 98 points. The 1999‑born outside hitter received two honors: Most Valuable Player and Best Outside Hitter, while Trần Duy Tuyến was awarded Best Middle Blocker. After the match, Ngọc Thuân shared: "I once promised that in the second leg I would be a completely different Ngọc Thuân."

The championship also earned Vietnam a spot in the 2027 AVC Cup and lifted them to 58th in the world rankings. More importantly, this historic milestone in Jakarta shows that Vietnamese men's volleyball is now capable of going head‑to‑head with Thailand and Indonesia, opening up new expectations on the road to the Asian Games.
