The opening match at 16:00 is the clash between Indonesia and Thailand. Although not bringing their strongest squad to Vietnam, the Thai team is still highly rated due to their squad depth and superior professional foundation in the region. Therefore, Indonesia will need to show stability in the first step if they want to cause an upset.

The highlight of the day is the showdown between Vietnam and the Philippines at 19:00. With home advantage and an experienced core, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team aims for an opening victory before facing Indonesia and Thailand respectively in the next two days.
